Usually a trade for a superstar doesn't work out for the team trading the top player. In this case, the LAL were so desperate, they got raped. The only positive for them is they got rid of Lonzo and his psycho family. Let's see how AD performs with a bit of pressure. I don't think the west which is full of fast, versatile backcourts will be very afraid of LeBron lumbering down the floor to throw it into the post to Davis. Besides that, the LAL mortgaged the future as what chance to they have to add a young player every year? I think NO should trade the #4 pick for a package including Jimmy Butler. Maybe they can get Cousins to come back??
wow three 1st rounders + the players? They were gonna get him in 12 months.. suprising.. I would moved the 3 players and this years 4th pick, but not the two additional first rounders.
will probably go down as one of the worst deals ever made
A lot of "mortgaged the future" talk. Don't think you can say LAL mortgaged their future because they can just get FA's in a post-Bron world and AD is only 26.
The best players have been wanting to play there since the beginning of time. So it is a lot easier for them to turn 4 quarters into a dollar than most teams obviously. Because you can replace those quarters with FA's easier.
If a team that wasn't the Lakers made this move then mortgaging the future and going "all-in" would be more apt.
